Complete Restoration – The Gold Spot is a historic building that was completely renovated in 2002. The redevelopment costs were approximately $3.0 million. The Gold Spot historic restoration revitalized a key corner of the Roosevelt Historic District. Built in 1925 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the building was one of the first shopping centers in Metropolitan Phoenix. The redevelopment was nominated under the Historic Preservation category for Environmental Excellence Awards.
